Even before I ordered my D200, I had ordered extra EN-EL3e batteries and spare LCD covers. And while the Kirk L-Bracket was ordered after the D200, it was ordered before my D200 arrived.
Getting the L-Bracket required that I also get a clamp plateform that would take it. In that regard, I bought Kirk's QRC4 to replace the platform clamp on my Manfrotto 488RC4 ball head and later Really Right Stuff's B2 Pro II for use on my Manfrotto 486RC4 ball head.

The only other accessory specifically for the D200 that interested me was the MB-D200 battery pack. But I wasn't sure if I wanted it. Unlike the D100, the battery pack was not needed to accept a remote cable release, but, of course, would hold two EN-EL3e batteries for longer shooting. However, once I got received my D200 and held it in my hands, and even though the camera felt nearly perfect, my lower finger tended to sit on the lower edge of the camera. Therefore, I decided I'd get the battery pack for use during hand-held situations, giving me a more secure feel, in mind if not in actuality. |

Accessories Shared with the D100 and/or Other Cameras

I've already mentioned the MC-30 remote cord that works with the D200, D100, F5, and F100. But other major shared accessories include: The SB-800 Speedlight: Which on the D200 can be triggered as a remote wireless flash by the D200's built-in flash, and can also be used with all of my Nikon cameras. Media Cards: All of my digital cameras, including the D200, use Compact Flash cards. With the file sizes of the D200, I primarily stick with 1GB and larger capacity cards, but the D200 can use the smaller capacity cards that I use with my other digital cameras. With the D200, I also use the faster cards, in my case SanDisk Ultra II or Extreme III cards. |

The MH-19 Multi-Battery Charger, which will charge two EN-EL3 batteries in succession by either AC or DC current, allows me to charge batteries at home or while driving in my vehicle. The latter being very useful on long photo trips. It works with both the older and newer EN-EL3 batteries, as does the MH-18 and MH-18a single battery quick chargers which shiped with the D100 and D200 cameras. |

The Nikon ML-3 Compact Modulite Remote Control Set controls remote shooting from up to eight meters, about 26 feet, distant. |
Naturally, the D200 and lenses used with it will accept or work with all the standard accessories for all Nikon SLR cameras and lenses, such as tripods, step-rings, filters, reversing rings, extension tubes, teleconverters, etc.

The bag I use for my D200 is an f.64 large backpack. Often used as a medium format camera bag by others, the f.64 bag is large enough to carry the D200, a second camera body, a boxed SB-800 flash, my large 200-500mm and 70-200mm lenses, six smaller lenses, a teleconverter, remote control cord, three media card wallets, gray cards, notebook and pen, D200 manual, small first-aid kit, rain poncho, and spare batteries. Small add-on bags house a GPS device, dual battery charger, extension tubes, filters, step-rings, cleaning supplies, and other odds and ends. |
